Start Up Nation

Pushing Humanity Forward

This Is Our Story

Start Up Nation (“SUN”) was founded in 2011 by Anne and Rachel, or, Astrogirl and Gremlin, with the objective of uniting startups globally. In the years that followed, the two founders, along with their league of extraordinary superheroes, built SUN from a company into a safe, compassionate and dynamic platform to push humanity forward.

SUN currently has networks and assets in 21 countries and diversified operations in three of these, with divisions across Investments, Acceleration, Social Impact, Digital Media, Consulting and Communities. SUN remains a privately owned company and bases its core operations in Singapore.

As a privately owned company, SUN has a global mandate in startups across industries and sectors, but prefers to focus on startups at the seed to angel stage with a focus on Asia.

SUNinvestments focuses on startups in the early seed stage to the late angel stage. SUN sets itself apart by providing hands-on and practical assistance to the startups in our portfolio through a combination of investments and acceleration. Find out more [here].

SUNventures accelerates startups, and we do so by getting our hands dirty – really dirty. We don’t just provide advice and motherhood statements. We go to sales meetings and close the sale. We send our tech team in to take apart your technology. We bring real engineers to the table – free. We get you there, faster. This is what acceleration really is. Find out more [here].

Digital Media

SUNdigital is driven by Gremlin. She wins awards for her applications, systems, and creative concepts. SUNdigital stays ahead of the competition by staying ahead of the latest technologies, while having faith in our league of extraordinary superheroes. This is a fully functional division of SUN – if you need to build out your technology, concept, or system, talk to us at

Social Impact

SUNsocial is the social impact arm of SUN (not a leg, not a foot, just an arm). Here, we build social impact eco-systems, in order to ensure sustained, persistent impact to communities. We do so by creating “circular” dependencies. Talk to us to find out more at
